Library in-residence at MIMA

This month the Library begins a residency at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA). We’re really excited to be situating the library and our programme of events in the Tees Valley over the next 6 months.

The programme kicks off with an introduction to the library on 30th July at MIMA.

We are looking forward to using this time as a period to learn more about the histories of women making art in the Tees Valley, research the MIMA Collection, and expand the library’s collection through donations and working with artists in the area.

We’re working with some really fantastic collaborators from the Tees Valley and further afield, including artist Jade Sweeting, Vicky Holbrough and Nicola Golightly at Navigator North, Althea Greenan (Women’s Art Library) and commissioned artist Fiona Larkin.

This residency, programme and a co-commission with MIMA has been funded by an 18 month Arts Council Project Grant supporting development of the library and growth of our collection and networks.
